New Feature: Handling Decimal Rounding in Room Charges

In some bookings, room charges may result in small decimal values, causing the folio balance to not equal zero. Previously, hotel staff had to contact HMS support to manually import a rounding adjustment in order to proceed with check-out.

Now, HMS has implemented a solution allowing staff to handle this situation independently and quickly. A new “Rounding” function has been added on the booking’s Billing screen.

When the "Rounding" button is clicked, the system will automatically add a service charge equal to the remaining decimal amount, helping to balance the folio (balance = 0) so the booking can be checked out as normal.

Note:

• Since the transaction code used is 1001 Room (M), this function should only be used for decimal differences related to room charges.

• For other types of decimal imbalances (e.g., services, packages, etc.), please contact Customer Support for proper handling.

• If there are no folios with decimal imbalances, the system will display the message:

  “No folios available for rounding”

Change: Update Nationality Code Field in Hotel Profile Report from 2 Characters to 3 Characters

Content:

To comply with the current regulations for guest accommodation reporting, HMS will update the Nationality field in the Hotel Profile report from a 2-character code to a 3-character code, following the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 international standard.

For example:

• The previous nationality code for Vietnam: VN

• After the update: VNM
